The Savoy, a landmark luxury hotel located on the banks of the River Thames in London, is renowned for its rich history, elegant design, and exceptional hospitality. Originally opened in 1889, it features opulent interiors, fine dining, and world-class service, making it a prestigious destination for both leisure and business travellers.
Artizan Group played a key role in the hotel’s continued evolution, providing client representation, project management and cost management services for the guest-room refurbishment through to construction, as well as the Thames Foyer renovation from concept to completion.
Our involvement ensured that each phase of the works met the highest standards of quality and design, while managing timelines and budgets with precision.

The owners’ and operators’ goals were clear; to rekindle the magic, glamour, and timeless character of the hotel while introducing contemporary elements that resonate with today's luxury travellers.
Guest Rooms Refurbishment
The guest rooms at The Savoy are renowned for their blend of timeless elegance and luxurious comfort, embodying the hotel's rich heritage and prestigious reputation.
Artizan led a transformative refurbishment of the hotel's guest rooms and corridors design, combining the property's heritage and prestige with modern technology enhancements to create an exceptional guest experience. The refurbishment will encompass 267 Edwardian and Art Deco rooms, whilst creating new Opportunity Suites, including Suites featuring balconies to enhance the guest experience. The hotel's energy efficiency and operating performance were also improved through implementing several BREEAM meaures.
We managed the project design team, procurement consultants and client direct, overseeing every phase of the programme. As part of this process, we produced mock-up rooms to test, refine and finalise design details.
Artizan oversaw the procurement of the main contractor, developed project logistics and phasing strategies, and prepared the post-construction delivery team to ensure successful completion. Throughout the process, we maintained seamless communication with the hotel management team, providing regular updates to the board to ensure project alignment and to deliver a flawless result.
